The RC-898 offers centralized transport and record function control of up to 6 DTRS recorders. Its large, comprehensive LCD display area, self-illuminated transport keys and the ability to access track copy functions on both DA-98(HR) and DA-38 recorders make multitrack recording across multiple machines easy and comfortable. Perhaps the most notable feature on the RC-898 is the Input Monitor switches. These switches address the DA-98's Input Monitor function for upwards of 6 machines or 48 tracks – making the process of toggling between source and tape easier than ever. With the RC-898's ability to access the DA-98's Confidence mode, the engineer remains firmly in control of his environment from the convenience of the console or wherever the controller is placed. The RC-898 also incorporates 10 dedicated function keys with a Shift function for creating up to 20 rapid access macros. Now, with the touch of a single button, access to the time code generator page, the offset window, track delay or any of the numerous other functions is just a key stroke away. It also provides self-illuminated transport control keys which provide quick visual feedback of the recorder's transport status. Combined with a series of dedicated LED indicators for key system parameters and a large numeric time code readout, the TASCAM RC-898 Remote Control Unit is ready for the most demanding tasks.
