Tascam IF-AE8HR
24-bit TDIF-1 and AES/EBU Interface

IF-AE8

The IF-AE8HR is designed for studios that need to transfer high-resolution 24-bit audio between TDIF-1 and AES3-1992 (AES/EBU) devices. It also supports audio transfer with high sampling frequencies, selectable between 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96kHz.

The IF-AE8HR is perfect for interaction between tools such as TASCAM's high-resolution DTRS machines (like the DA-78HR or DA-98HR) and professional digital consoles and digital audio workstations that use the AES/EBU protocol. It provides complete control of all its functions from the front panel.

For compatibility with a variety of 96kHz equipment, the IF-AE8HR offers both single-wire and two-wire AES/EBU data connection speeds. Also, separate word clock connections are provided for 44.1/48kHz and 88.2/96kHz, ensuring sample-accurate transfer at even the highest connection speeds.

Housed in a compact single-space rackmount chassis, the IF-AE8HR's XLR connectors can be set to transmit and receive either AES/EBU or IEC-60958 TYPE II (SPDIF) formats for maximum flexibility in the studio. Both formats are automatically recognised when received by the unit. For high-end music recording, sound for picture or DVD authoring, the IF-AE8HR is the solution for the smoothest transfer of today's new digital audio standards.
