After thousands of sessions, you've certainly heard his amazing leads on many hit records, movies, and more. This is one of the most challenging of careers, requiring players to plug in and play "impossible" charts with little or no practice. Steve's body of work demonstrates his incredible speed and technique along with a chameleon-like ability to play in a multitude of styles. Doing all this requires a flexible electronics setup that's quiet enough for the most discerning studio. His choice is a highly customized EMG configuration that was previously only available on his signature Ernie Ball/Music Man "Luke" guitar.
The SL20 comes pre-assembled on a Black Pearl pickguard. Your standard Strat-style body may require additional routing at the bridge pickup position to accomodate the larger humbucking pickup. The SL20 allows for a most unique, fine tuned tone in a simple package. Whether on stage or in the studio, it delivers in the most difficult situations with uncompromising tone, noiseless performance, and rock-solid reliability.
