After the worldwide success of the TEC-Award-winning S1 live
condenser microphone, Rode was asked if they could design a live vocal
microphone with similar levels of feedback rejection, vocal clarity and
reliability as that of the S1, but offering a more affordable solution.
The S2 is that mic, and it has been achieved through careful transducer
selection, the application of a new electronic circuit, and a high level
of investment in tooling.
