The original Melody Maker guitar was introduced by Gibson in 1959 and was based on the same philosophy: American-made quality at a price for the beginning player.

The Melody Maker features a mahogany body with a lightweight '60s-style slim taper neck and rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. It comes in three cool satin finishes for an aged look: Satin Ebony, Satin Cherry and Satin Yellow
Appointments include a single dog ear P-90 pickup for vintage tone, Tune-o-matic bridge and chrome hardware.
