The
Limited Edition Paul McCartney 1964 Texan is a replica
of the famous guitar that he used to record “Yesterday” and
that he performed with on the Ed Sullivan Show. Sir Paul
has worked with Epiphone to ensure that every detail
of his original ’64 Texan (which he still owns
and uses today) is historically accurate - from the Antique
Natural lacquer finish to plastic-button Kluson machine
heads to the “C” shaped Mahogany neck. Each
of these guitars is individually numbered and includes
a certificate of authenticity and a custom Ultralight
Hardcase.
This
is the third and final series of Epiphone McCartney Signature
Texans. Celebrating the year of the Beatles historic
performance on the Ed Sullivan show, this series is limited
to only 1,964 instruments worldwide and is hand-crafted
in Japan by the luthiers who make Epiphone’s acclaimed
Elitist series guitars. These guitars feature the finest
solid mahogany and Sitka spruce available. The neck is
fitted just as it was in 1964, with a tapered “dovetail” joint.
The lacquer finish has been custom mixed to exactly match
the color and sheen of a 1964 Epiphone Texan. Sir Paul
worked with Epiphone to ensure every detail has been
replicated, right down to the off-white grain filler,
side dots on the fingerboard, and even the small gap
between inside back strip and the head block (a detail
McCartney himself pointed out during the design phase).
Additional
