The Liquid Blues dual-tube overdrive pedal can persuade any amp to walk down a dark alley. But with the unique Clarity control, you can keep it clean, even when things get rough. The Drive knob takes you from clean to medium-gain tones, while the Opto-Compressor controls the dynamics of the clipping from down and dirty to smooth and sophisticated.

  MP3 FILES
Transparent – A single-line rhythm passage is played with the Liquid Blues in True Bypass, and then Engaged to add just a hint of compression and level boost. Notice how the original tone is preserved and the low end remains strong and clear.

Push – A mild twist of the Drive control gives a bit more authority to your tone. Again, True Bypass followed by Liquid Blues Engaged.

cleanDirty – For some chordal rhythm work that needs to have an edge, the Clarity control gets the job done. The individual notes of the 9th chord ring true with a light dose of tube driven overdrive blended in for a fat rhythm sound. True Bypass then Engaged.

teleTELE – A couple of tubes biased at 250 volts is a welcome addition to any setup. This thin neck-pickup riff becomes a fat Texas-sized RIFF once the Liquid Blues is Engaged

fullTilt – If you feel a frenzied outburst coming on, Liquid Blues can help you out. This clip sets Drive to maximum, and Clarity to minimum.

Layered – For this chordal passage, the Liquid Blues is dialed in for maximum Drive and maximum Clarity, leading to a two-part effect of clean-compressed over heavy distortion.
